Truck strikes pole on Weston Street, causes power outage

A truck colliding with a utility pole caused a power outage for Eversource customers near the area of Weston Street on Monday morning.

On Aug. 3 at 5:30 a.m., police and fire crews responded to a report of a vehicle collision on Weston Street. An unoccupied U-Haul truck parked on the street rolled backward and struck a utility pole, snapping it in half. There were no injuries. 

The Waltham Police Department blocked a portion of Weston Street while the truck was removed from the pole at around 9 a.m. Eversource responded and was able to restore power to customers by around 10 a.m.

Eversource did not respond to a request for comment.
