Fallen tree blocks Beaver Street on Saturday afternoon

A large tree fell across Beaver Street near Lyman Street around 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, blocking the roadway and prompting temporary road closures and traffic detours.

Waltham Police closed the affected section of the road while crews from the city’s forestry division cut apart the tree and cleared branches and debris from the roadway.
