Democratic incumbents secure primary victories

By Charlie Johnson and Cyd Abnet

Most voters in the state primary voted for Democratic incumbent candidates in the Sept. 1 primary. Waltham announced the unofficial election results approximately two hours after polls closed. Official results for the full county, district or statewide constituency in each race will be finalized within four days. Compared with neighboring communities, Waltham had a low voter turnout at 25%. Lexington had a 30% voter turnout, while Arlington’s reached 37%. Still, Waltham’s turnout was an increase from the 2024 state primary.
