A flock of Canada geese descended on the lawn at Gore Place late in the afternoon of Friday, Aug. 7, as visitors at the nearby Mighty Squirrel Biergarten looked on.

Photographer Tim Lok captured the birds as they came in to land, wings set, on the historic estate’s open grass. The day was hot and humid, and a crowd had gathered at the biergarten for a cold beer and a chance to unwind at the end of the week.
