NextGen STEMFest offers hands-on experiences for all ages
The NextGen STEMFest will bring hands-on science and technology experiences to Waltham later this month, aiming to spark curiosity and introduce students and families to careers in STEM fields.
The festival is scheduled for Saturday, May 30, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation. STEMFest is co-hosted by the museum and the Charles River Collaboratory, a youth-led innovation and “unmaker” space. Organizers say the event is designed for all ages, with an emphasis on interactive learning and exploration. Admission is free.
Unlike traditional science fairs that focus on demonstrations, NextGen STEMFest will prioritize active participation. Exhibitors have been asked to create engaging, hands-on activities that let attendees experiment with technologies and explore scientific concepts firsthand.
The event will also provide companies and organizations an opportunity to showcase career pathways in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, connecting attendees with professionals working in those fields.
