Section of Waltham commuter rail platform collapses

A portion of the commuter rail platform at Waltham Common collapsed over the weekend, according to a post on the Waltham Reddit forum.

A photo shared online showed part of the wooden flooring on the outbound access way buckled. The poster said there were no reports of any injuries.

As of Sunday afternoon, crews had removed the damaged section, and yellow caution tape blocked access to the area.

The Waltham Police Department had not responded to questions from The Waltham Times as of Monday 7 a.m.
