Waltham firefighters battle second-alarm blaze on Bacon Street
Eight residents were displaced early Sunday after a second-alarm fire heavily damaged a home on Bacon Street, officials said.
Fire crews responded in the early morning hours to reports of a building on fire, where heavy flames were visible upon arrival. Officials struck a second alarm to bring in additional personnel as firefighters worked to contain the blaze.
Firefighters and police helped evacuate several residents out of the home. At least one person was transported to a local hospital for evaluation, though the extent of injuries was not immediately known.
Photos taken later Sunday show significant damage to the upper floors of the house, with multiple windows blown out and extensive fire damage throughout the structure.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Typically, a fire resources are stated as how many “alarms” the fire is.
So, a “two alarm, four or five alarm” for example.
Not a “second, or fourth, or fifth alarm” fire.
Is there any reporting as to how many of the 8 occupants of the house were residing on the floor of the fire, and whether the residents have found occupancy in other properties in the city?
