St. Mary Parish will host its first community electronics recycling event on Saturday, Sept. 20, in partnership with Green Day Recycling.

The collection will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church’s parking lot at 30 Pond St. and will be open to residents from Waltham and surrounding communities.

Participants may drop off items such as televisions, computers, printers, small appliances, power tools, phones, tablets and other electronics. Organizers said the goal is to provide residents with a safe and convenient option to dispose of unwanted or outdated items while keeping them out of landfills.

Fees will apply depending on the item. Small household electronics will cost about $5 to recycle, while larger appliances generally range between $10 and $20. Televisions will cost between $25 and $40, depending on size. Organizers said the charges cover the cost of processing and recycling.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit St. Mary Parish and its community programs.

Green Day Recycling has coordinated electronics waste collections with churches across Massachusetts for roughly 20 years.
