The Waltham Commons commuter rail platform has been repaired following a partial collapse on Oct. 24.

The Waltham Commons platform is one of 10 wooden platforms in the MBTA Commuter Rail System. The Waltham Commons platform was built in 2006, according to Jake O’Neill, a spokesperson for Keolis, which runs the MBTA. O’Neill said all commuter rail platforms are inspected regularly.

O’Neill said the partial collapse happened after “a support for the wooden ramp leading to the outbound platform at Waltham Station deteriorated, which caused the ramp to shift by a few inches.”

One person sustained a minor injury but refused medical attention. Train crews reported the damaged platform, and it was closed for repairs on Oct. 25. It reopened the next day.
